Friday 10 February 2012
Taking place on Saturday, 18 August, 2012, the day offers fans the chance to get close to a range of rally machines and drivers, both past and present, in a series of spectacular displays and demonstrations. Vehicles from the World Rally Championship (WRC), Dakar series and also from grassroots rallying clubs will all be featured in the event.
Cooper Tire will be the headline sponsor of the burgeoning 4x4 Rally Raid area, with a dedicated mixed surface 4x4 stage, complete with challenge truck demonstrations and top-spec 4x4 machinery in action throughout the day.
Among the highlights of the Cooper Tires Rally Raid Zone will be a fleet of Qt Wildcats. White-knuckle passenger rides will be available in these powerful machines, with all proceeds going to the Race2Recovery charity, a project run by injured servicemen who are aiming to conquer the 2013 Dakar rally.
Brian Stubbings, Rallyday co-organiser commented, “This new three-year sponsorship deal between Cooper Tire and Rallyday has excellent potential for both companies. The live action demonstration possibilities at the show featuring the incredible Qt Wildcats, among other high-spec, off-road machinery, gives spectators, attending clubs and competitors the chance to see Cooper’s product in action on a live rally stage. The additional backing for the event enables us to further evolve our 4x4 Rally Raid Zone and get Rallyday firmly established in the 4x4 calendar.”
Sarah McRoberts, Marketing Communications Manager for Cooper Tire, commented, “We’re really looking forward to our partnership with Rallyday. It’s a great and increasingly popular event among our clients and it provides us with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of our Cooper 4x4 range and also meet many of the enthusiasts that rely on our products.”
